Study of Horse - Thoroughbred

This is Maggie my rescue horse. She is actually a liver chestnut but the way the sun was hitting her from the side altered her coloring for a moment.

Study of Pit Bulldog

This is Yogi. He was a "walk-up" dog. I wish I still had him. Please read his story on my website. There is another image of him on the website with lots of color. If you look closely at his right eye in the colorful image on the bottom lid you will see that a very small tear formed from a drop of water as I was painting. It speaks volumes. Just click on that image and scroll down to read his story.
This painting has been very time consuming... I am trying a new method of painting directly on Aquabord. Once I finish this one, it will be posted on my website.

Another Dog Pounder

I couldn't resist painting this cute face. This is actually a puppy that was at Oxford-Lafayette Humane Society when I went over to photograph this years subject for their art auction Paws for Art. I did go by about a week later and this baby had been adopted.
Cyd Dunlap, President of OLHS saw this and said that this little one is named Basil and is now living in a happy home!

Junior a/k/a Houdini - Cat Watercolor Study

Junior a/k/a Houdini
Watercolor on Board
6 x 6

Being a dog person, I have always been a bit indifferent to cats. But, since someone decided to make yet another animal donation to my collection, I have learned that cats can be a tremendous amount of fun and are full of unpredictable antics. I have had several litters of roadside critters "walk up" lately. Junior (because he looks just like his Mom) is one of them.

Mississippi Delta - Oil Landscape Painting

Mississippi Delta
Oil/Palette Knife
5 x 7

This is where the hills meet the flatland of the Mississippi Delta. This change in elevation is actually divided by a highway known as "Valley Road" that sits on the last flat edge just before the abrupt incline of the hills. I live just off this road on the hill side.
